Redleg Partridge

Red Legged PartridgeThe Red-legged Partridge was introduced to Britain in the 1600s by Charles II, having brought them from France to provide target practice for guns. They are now resident and outnumber our native Grey Partridge.

Males and females are alike and are very attractive game birds.It is a rotund bird, with a light brown back, grey breast and buff belly. The face is white with a black gorget. It has rufous-streaked flanks and red legs.

Our partridge are blood tested for the purity of the strain, thereby assuring the quality of their performance.
